Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey, walked out of a heated debate at the World Economic Forum in Davos after condemning the position of Israeli President, Mr. Shimon Peres, over Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan said: “I find it very sad that people applaud what you said. There have been many people killed. And I think that it is very wrong and it is not humanitarian.”
Before leaving he made the statement that he would not be attending again because of the hypocrisy of the moderator who did not even allow him half the time which was given to the Israeli President.
During the short amount of time he was given to speak, the moderator twice attempted to cut him off and end the debate, saying, “We really do need to get people to dinner.”
